Empowered Students
Students take an active role in their education, from the development of their education plans to collaboration with course instructors. Students are provided guidance and assistance each step of the way while also being nurtured toward becoming self-directed, confident individuals ready for college and future career roles. Through empowerment, learning can be fun and meaningful.
Incorporate the Now, Prepare for the Future
While preparing them for the future, CMA School of Arts and Sciences recognizes that students have life considerations now. Some of our students travel or are engaged in activities that can be incorporated into their studies. Other students have health concerns or special family obligations that take priority. Each student is valued and nurtured, encouraged to make the most of current opportunities and situations while looking ahead to future goals.
Enriching Electives
Providing a personalized program involves offering a variety of course options and electives. CMA School of Arts and Sciences offers Survey of Religions, forensic science, journalism, video game design, cinema as literature, creative writing, astronomy, advanced mathematics, personalized arts courses, world languages and more.
Honorable Honors Program
“No person was ever honored for what he received. Honor has been the reward for what he gave.” ~Calvin Coolidge
Honors courses require students to engage in activities that develop personal character while also serving their community or beyond. These activities are at a higher level of learning per Bloom’s taxonomy: analyze, evaluate, and/or create. Activities are to be completed conscientiously as a demonstration of the student’s best work. Honors project plans are developed by the student, with the guidance of his or her Educational Facilitator and course instructor. Learn more about the Honorable Honors program.
